JOURNEY TO KOŠICE
There are several ways to get to Košice. The city is located in eastern Slovakia,
has
270 000 inhabitants and is situated on international road and railway crossroad.
A very comfortable way to get to Košice is by air. There are direct lines from Wien, Prague and Bratislava. More detailed information can be found on www.csa.cz, www.austrian.com, www.zsr.sk, and www.danubewings.com and www.ryanair.com.
COURSE:
Very fast, flat, completely asphalted, traffic free. Two laps through Košice historic
city centre and parks. Half Marathon participants run 1 lap. The course is IAAF/AIMS
certified and the race is held under the IAAF Rules and Regulations. The 6th IAAF World
Half Marathon Championship in 1997 were held on this course as well. .

7 October 2012 (Sunday) at 9:00 a.m., in front of Hotel Doubletree by Hilton, Hlavná street.
FINISH:
Marathon, Half Marathon, Relay Race 4 x 1/4 Marathon – Hlavná street, in front of hotel Doubletree by Hilton
Inline skaters (20km), Handbikers (20km), Wheelchairs (20km) – Peace Marathon Place
TIME LIMIT:
6 hours, The course will be closed at 3 p.m. The limit for 33rd km is 4,5 hours.
AGE LIMIT:
Marathon and Half Marathon - 18 years (born in 1994 and before).
In-line skaters - 16 years (1996 and before). Participation of competitors
younger than 16 years is strictly forbidden (excluding Minimarathon).
ENTRY FEE AND REGISTRATION:
When paid till 30 April 2012 - 30 EUR
When paid till 30 June 2012 – 35 EUR
When paid till 15 September 2012 - 40 EUR
When paid after 15 September 2012 – 50 EUR
Registraton will be considered valid only upon evidence of payment of the Entry fee.
Participants can check their payment in the list of registered runners.
The amount of payment is determined by date of
the money transfer.
The Entry fee is not returnable.
If you are not able to participate in the Kosice Peace Marathon 2012, inform the Marathon Club (info@kosicemarathon.com) until 30 September 2012 and your Entry fee will be transfered to the next year.

PRESENTATION AND BIB NUMBER PICK UP:
5 October 2012 (Friday) 10 a.m. - 8 p.m
6 October 2012 (Saturday) 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.
There will be no registration and bib or chip pick up on the race day (7 October 2012).
Participants will obtain their Welcome bag, Bib number and Chip on presentation in Kosice upon presentation of a Voucher.
The Voucher will be available in the participants account from 5 September 2012.
The Voucher will be available only for those with valid entry form and etnry fee paymnets.
Print the Voucher, sign it and bring it with you to the presentation in Kosice.
INSURANCE:
All participants start on their own risk and they are advised to
take out their individual health insurance. Inline skaters must wear a helmet!
Organizers are not responsible for any damages of the property or injuries
associated with travel to/from and stay in the Košice City or the participation in the event itself.

SLOVAK NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS:
Part of the 89th Kosice Peace Marathon will be the Slovak national marathon championships organized in cooperation with the Slovak Athletic Federation.
Instructions for this event will be published on our website.
PRIZE MONEY:
Prize money will be given to the first 10 men and 6 women in the main category and first 3 of each other category listed above, on condition, that at least three competitors will start in the given category.
ENTRY FEE INCLUDES:
Welcome bag with bib number, chip, T-shirt, AIMS magazine, bulletin, ticket to the Pasta Party (Saturday 6 October 2012). Runners will receive a medal (after completing the race within time limit).
Certificate and results (only in electronic form available on www.kosicemarathon.com for download).
BIB NUMBER WITH THE PARTICIPANT’S NAME:
All participants who registere for KPM and pay the entry fee till 31 August 2012, will receive a bib number with their name and with a flag of their country on it.
TIMING:
Time will be measured by using chips.
All runners must have a chip attached to their shoelaces.
Runners will receive one together with their start number.
YOUR TIME WILL NOT BE MEASURED WITHOUT THE CHIP!!!
REFRESHMENT STATIONS:
Based on the structure of the course (2 x 21 km), refreshment stations are situated as follows: 5,1 km, 9,9 km, 15,1 km, 20,1 km, 26,2 km, 31 km, 36,2 km, 41,2 km. Sponging stations with water in plastic glasses will be located between the refreshment stations. Do not throw empty bottles and glasses down the middle of the road; it may cause injuries to competitors running behind you. Every finisher will receive a refreshment pack and beverages.
MEDICAL CARE:
Medical care will be provided in the Start and Finish area as well as all along the course.

WE THINK ABOUT DEVOTED MARATHON RUNNERS:
Every runner who ran at least 10 full marathons in Kosice who registers and pays the entry fee until 31 August 2012, will pay only 20 EUR entry fee. Runners can check the number of their starts in Kosice on our website
JUNIOR RELAY RACE
A group of students will run during the Kosice Peace Marathon a relay race 42x1km
MINIMARATHON:
On Sunday 7 October 2012 is going to be held also a very popular 4,2 km long minimarathon. More information on this non competitive run can be found on our website.
HALFMARATHON KOŠICE – SEŇA:
The organizers are also preparing already the 10th Half Marathon from Košice to Seňa, which is going to be held on Saturday 23 June 2012. Part of the jubilee event is going to be the Slovak national hafmarathon championships organized with cooperation of the Slovak Athletic Federation. Come and try the course where for long years the Košice Peace Marathon was held.
