REGISTRATION:

METHOD AND CONDITIONS OF REGISTRATION:

• The only method of registration for the event is online registration, which is available on the webpage of the organizer at kosicemarathon.com.
• Part of the online registration on the mentioned webpage is also the payment system set for the payment of the entry fee.
• Participants in the Marathon, Volvo Half Marathon and Handbike disciplines register individually via their competitor’s account at the online registration.
• The Relay Magna Marathon 4x¼ team is always registered by one of its members. Relay teams consist of four members. Each member of the relay team may run only one section. The relay course is identical to the marathon course. The individual sections of the relay have the following lengths: 12 km, 9 km, 12 km, 9 km. The division of the relay sections is at the decision of its members and is entered during the registration process. For more detailed information on relay registration and start procedures, please refer to the additional provisions of these regulations.

ENTRY FEE:

The entry fee for the KPM 2025 is set as follows:

Marathon and Volvo Half Marathon:

• When registering and paying by March 31, 2025: 50 EUR
• When registering and paying by July 31, 2025: 55 EUR
• When registering and paying from August 1, 2025: 60 EUR

Relay Magna Marathon 4x¼:

• When registering and paying by March 31, 2025: 45 EUR
• When registering and paying by July 31, 2025: 50 EUR
• When registering and paying from August 1, 2025: 55 EUR
• The starting fee in the Relay discipline must be paid for each member of the relay team.

Handbike:

• When registering and paying by March 31, 2025: 0 EUR
• When registering and paying by July 31, 2025: 0 EUR
• When registering and paying from August 1, 2025: 0 EUR

Inline:

• When registering and paying by March 31, 2025: 50 EUR
• When registering and paying by July 31, 2025: 50 EUR
• When registering and paying from August 1, 2025: 50 EUR
• The number of participants in the Inline KPM 2025 discipline is limited and determined by performance criteria. Registration is only possible with a code that participants who meet the given criteria receive from the organizer.

Diamond Club:

• When registering and paying by March 31, 2025: 0 EUR
• When registering and paying by July 31, 2025: 0 EUR
• When registering and paying from August 1, 2025: 60 EUR

If the registration date and payment date do not match, the payment date is decisive for determining the amount of the entry fee.

BONUS CODE FOR THE KOŠICE PEACE HALF MARATHON:

• By registering for the Košice Peace Marathon (KPHM) 2025, you gain a special bonus. This entitles you to register for the Košice Peace Half Marathon, taking place on May 10, 2025, in the Half Marathon and Quarter Marathon disciplines, with a discounted entry fee of 22 EUR.
• To take advantage of this benefit and test your readiness before the peak of the autumn season, it is necessary to align the order of your registrations. If you wish to use this benefit, please make your registration for our October running event first. The discount code will be generated automatically by the registration system, with no additional request required. You can then use the code at your decision.
• If you are unable to register for the KPHM personally, the code can be transferred to any person of your choice.

WHAT DOES THE ENTRY FEE GET YOU:

The entry fee is used primarily to cover part of the costs associated with the overall preparation and organization of the event.

As part of this, the organizer provides the participant with the following, as well as other services and benefits not listed here:

• Bib number with disposable chip (with participant’s name if application and entry fee payment are received by August 31, 2025)
• Measurement of time and relevant split times using chip technology
• SMS with finishing time (if participant supplies cell-phone number in application)
• Medal for reaching the finish within the time limit
• A special discount on the purchase of a premium Event T-shirt
• Marathon magazine
• Storage service for personal belongings
• Medical services around course and at finish
• Refreshments around course (every 5 km)
• Refreshments and services in finish area
• Online participant’s diploma
• Online results list
• Information service – event info sent to participant’s email address
• Other services and benefits will be published on an ongoing basis as more detailed specifications are known

PAYMENT OF ENTRY FEE:

• The online registration for the Košice Peace Marathon becomes valid only after payment of the entry fee, which must be paid at the same time as your registration.
• A registration form which is not submitted simultaneously with payment of the prescribed entry fee to the account of the organizer is incomplete and shall be considered by the organizer as invalid. The organizer shall decide whether such a registration is to be left in the records for further communication with the participant.

Payment with a registration code:

• Payment using a registration code is intended mainly for event partners and employers (hereinafter referred to as a Company) that offer participation and starting in individual Events as a benefit for their employees or for other persons based on their own decision.
• In case of payment with a registration code, all obligations and rights of the participant following from participation in the event as stated in the General Terms and Conditions remain valid.

CHECKING THE REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT:

Registration and receipt of the entry fee payment can be checked by logging into the competitor’s account in the online registration section of our website.

The organizer cannot be held responsible for incorrectly entered details either in your application or in your entry fee payment instructions!

CANCELLATION, SHIFTING OF A START, CHANGE OF DISCIPLINE:

Cancellation of a start:

1. The organizer does not refund a paid entry fee.
2. A registered participant who does not appear at the event, does not pick up his or her start number and does not make it to the start of the event has no claim on a refunding of the entry fee or any claim for the refunding of possible other payments associated with participation. The organizer in such a case has no obligation to offer or otherwise substitute an ordered service or to deliver material equipment and objects associated with the start at the event.

Postponement of the Start to the next year:

A registered participant may request the shifting of his or her participation and entry fee to the following year of the event online on the website of the organizer after logging in to his or her participant’s account at registration.kosicemarathon.com and may do so no later than midnight on Thursday, September 25, 2025.

For such a step the following conditions must be met:

• At the time of the start transfer, the participant had met all the conditions for participation in the event in that year.
• A participant who transferred his/her start must re-register properly for one of the disciplines in the following year, which may not be the same as the original discipline from which he/she transferred his/her start. For this purpose, he/she will receive a registration code and relevant instructions. The handling fee is set at EUR 10.
• Transferring the start to the next year of the event is not possible if the participant is registered for the event using a registration code that he/she received from his/her employer or as a gift, a prize in a competition, in a loyalty program, etc.
• The option to transfer the start automatically expires if the participant does not comply with the deadline and conditions for transferring the start, including payment of the handling fee.
• Transferring the start is only possible once, to the next, i.e. the nearest year of the event. Repeated transfer of a start that has already been transferred is not possible.

Transfer of start to a new participant:

In the event of unexpected changes or health conditions, the organizer allows you to transfer the start or a valid registration to a new participant under the following conditions:

• Such a transfer will be made no later than midnight on September 25, 2025.
• A transfer is only possible for a participant who is registered for the Marathon or Volvo Half Marathon.
• For the Relay Magna Marathon 4x¼ and Mini Marathon disciplines, follow the provisions of these disciplines.
• Transfers in the Inline and Handbike disciplines are not possible due to specific registration conditions.
• A duly registered participant can make the transfer in their competitor account by filling in the data in the relevant section, by clicking on the link “Transfer of start to new participant”
• After filling in the data and sending it, the original participant will automatically receive a registration code from the system to their e-mail address for the new participant to whom they want to transfer the start.
• After confirming the application, the original participant will receive instructions on the next steps and a registration code for the new participant by e-mail.
• The original participant will provide this registration code to the new participant.
• After completing and submitting the application data, the registration system will automatically remove the original participant from the database of registered participants. Please note that this step is irreversible and cannot be revoked.
• The new participant must properly register with the registration code obtained in this way no later than midnight on September 25, 2025.
• The new participant must meet all the conditions for proper registration.
• In this process and according to these propositions, a new participant may only register for one of the two disciplines, namely the Marathon or the Volvo Half Marathon.
• The financial settlement for the paid entry fee is entirely the responsibility of the original and new participant. The organizer will not refund this fee (entry fee) to the originally registered participant.
• Other payments made by the original participant (purchased services and accessories) remain on the original participant’s account. They will claim (collect) them directly at the event or in an agreed manner after the event.
• Transferring the start to a new participant is subject to a handling fee of 10 EUR. It is paid during the online registration process of the new participant.

Transferring the start to a new participant is not possible in the following cases:

• If the participant is registered for the event using a registration code received from their employer or as a gift, prize in a competition, loyalty program, etc.
• If the participant is registered for the Slovak Marathon or Half Marathon Championship as part of the event.

Change of discipline

• A change of discipline (registration from the Marathon discipline to the Volvo Half Marathon and vice versa) can be made after logging into the competitor’s account by 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2025.
• Changes in other disciplines of the event are not possible. It is also not possible to combine multiple disciplines in any way, including participation in a relay with a start in another discipline.

Changing a member and order of members of the Relay Magna Marathon 4x¼:

1. A change of a relay member or order of relay members can only be made by the person who registered the relay team after logging into their competitor account.
2. A change of a relay member can be made in the “My registrations” section by clicking on the “Replace competitor” link. The registration form will open, where you need to fill in the new competitor’s details. The change is then saved by clicking on the “Save” link.
3. The order of the competitors in the relay can be changed in the “My registrations” section. The order of the relay competitors is changed by moving the given competitor to the desired section. The new order is saved by clicking on the “Save” link.
4. The order or relay member must be changed before taking over the starting numbers.
5. The order or relay member can be changed repeatedly.

COURSE:

DESCRIPTION:

• The urban circuit of the marathon course is based on the concept of the original course created for the IAAF World Half Marathon Championships in 1997.
• The course is without significant elevation changes, fully covered with asphalt.
• The marathon course consists of two circuits, the participants of the Volvo Half Marathon complete one circuit.
• The marathon, as the main discipline of the KPM, has a World Athletics (WA) and AIMS certificate for its course.
• Additional disciplines are held on parts and sections of the urban circuit and their competition distances are not subject to the need for such international certification.

PARAMETERS AND ADVANTAGES:

Fast marathon courses must be characterized by several positive parameters. In addition to the low number of changes of direction or sharp turns, it is of course also their elevation profile. In Košice, a course was created that meets even the most demanding criteria from this point of view and is comparable in this respect to the courses on which the fastest world ranking times are achieved every year.

In Berlin, where several world records have been set, the course has 21 changes of direction sharper or equal to 90°. In Košice, the number of such changes of direction in the sum of both rounds is equally low.

If we take a closer look at the elevation profile of the course, we find that the elevation difference between the lowest and highest point on the Košice city circuit is only 16.35 m (200.700 m a.s.l. – 217.050 m a.s.l.).

Another significant factor, the sum of all climbs on the Košice marathon course, reaches a value of 74 meters.
