HE WON IN KOSICE AND IN BOSTON TOO
He was a hiking guide by profession. In 1946 he took part in the KPM for the first time, finishing in 2nd place with a time of 2h37m00s. Winner of the Boston Marathon (USA) in 1949 with a time of 2h31m50s, and in 1953 he was third with 2h19m36s (shorter course). In 1950 he won for the second time in Kosice, this time beating the course record set by J. C. Zabala in 1931 with a time of 2h31m20s.
