The Košice Peace Marathon has received another prestigious award. The International Athletics Federation awarded it a stamp of quality in the form of an IAAF Silver Label for achieved sporting results and overall organization. The umbrella athletics organization awards this certificate to marathons and road races based on the evaluation of precise criteria, and after last year’s bronze placing, this is for the KPM another major shift forward. RODINNÝ BEH LÁKA VŠETKY GENERÁCIE U.S.Steel Family Run, či ak chcete Minimaratón, je programovým lákadlom MMM už skutočne dlhé roky. Ak by sa zdalo, že iba pre ľudí z Košíc a blízkeho okolia, budeme prekvapení. Medzi viac ako 3700 účastníkmi nájdeme v štartovej listine mená bežcov z 15 krajín, vrátane tých skutočne vzdialelných akými sú India, Čína či Kolumbia. MAJSTERKA SVETA SA VRACIA DO KOŠÍC Od pamätného svetového šampionátu IAAF v polmaratóne uplynie onedlho 20 rokov. Pri tejto príležitosti prijala pozvanie organizátorov skvelá vytrvalkyňa Tegla Loroupe, ktorá v Košiciach získala prvý zo svojich troch titulov majsterky sveta v polmaratóne. Darilo sa jej aj na dvojnásobnej kráľovskej vzdialenosti, keď pri svojom víťazstve v Berlíne v roku 1999 vytvorila časom 2:20:43 nový svetový rekord v maratóne. ENORMNÝ ZÁUJEM UŽ OD FEBRUÁRA Od februára 2017 pretrváva enormný záujem registrovať sa na 94. ročník MMM. Od poslednej zverejnenej informácie 4. septembra sa počet registrovaných zvýšil o ďalších 435 bežcov a účastníkov, prekonal tak ďalšiu métu a zastavil sa na čísle 13 010. Súčasne organizátori už v pondelok 11. septembra registráciu vo všetkých disciplínach zastavili. Do databáz tak pribudnú už iba elitní pretekári a ďalší pohyb bude minimálny. Noncompetitive walking event FAMILY WALK will be the new part of marathon weekend program this year. If you are participating on Sunday marathon or just want to enjoy the city on Marathon Saturday with family and friends register yourself free of charge at FAMILY WALK. The start is on Saturday – September, 30 at 4:00 PM from Marathon EXPO (in front of shopping centre Aupark).
